Mrs Leena Al-Derham is Senior Education Specialist at Educate A Child. Prior to her work at EAC, she served in the Doha International Family Institute in the implementation and outreach division. Mrs Al-Derham’s work involved developing innovative evidenced-based family related programmes and activities by developing training workshops for local NGOs in order to enhance and strengthen efforts to better understand family relationships. Mrs Al-Derham assisted in designing seminars and lectures for policy-makers and local service providers; and developed the capacity building program “Building Healthy Families”.
Mrs Al-Derham previously worked in the Supreme Education Council as an Early Childhood specialist. Before that she was teacher in several government schools. Mrs Al-Derham has implemented a number of projects that have yielded major benefits for the Early Years Department at the Ministry of Supreme Education in Qatar.
Leena holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Studies; her dissertation focused on the gifted children in Qatar. She has written many articles and papers related to child development. She is bilingual, Arabic and English.
