This important conference ‘Looking Back and Moving Forward’ was held from 31 August to 1 September and Dr Mary Joy Pigozzi, Executive Director, joined more than 600 participants from government, academia, the private sector and civil society to represent Educate A Child. ‘KOICA is to be congratulated on its 10th ODA Conference. Inviting EAC, a new foundation from the Gulf, is a good indication of KOICA’s commitment to inclusivity,’ said Dr Pigozzi.
Critically, this two-day event sought to take stock of the progress made regarding international development and cooperation, the challenges ahead for the prosperity of humankind and identify priority areas for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Since its inception in 2012, Educate A Child has been steadfast and sharply focused on facilitating the world’s most vulnerable children’s right to an education. With this in mind, Dr Pigozzi trained her remarks on inclusivity and its relationship to effective responses to today’s challenges, as well as how reform efforts can be embedded in donor countries’ support for sustainable development.
Educate A Child was proud to be a part of this historic occasion in Seoul and share insights into how it distinguishes itself as an education funder.
