Strategic Partner

Global Partnership for Education

The Global Partnership for Education (GPE) is devoted to getting all of the estimated 57 million primary school aged children who are currently out of school into school for a quality education. EAC and GPE are working together through a strategic partnership to achieve this goal.

Global Partnership for Education

GPE was launched in 2002, and today is engaged with nearly 60 developing countries, as well as donor governments, international organizations, the private sector, teachers, local and global civil society organizations/NGOs, all devoted to helping children receive a good quality education.

As well as coordinating funding, the GPE supports low-income countries to develop and implement their national education strategies, providing financial support and technical expertise. Since 2003, GPE has helped enroll nearly 22 million more children into school, including 10 million girls, and has supported the construction of over 52,600 classrooms and trained around 300,000 teachers.
