EAC High Level Ministerial Meeting

The second Educate A Child (EAC) High Level Ministerial Meeting (HLM), held in Doha, Qatar, on April 30, 2014, engaged education partners in meaningful discourse on how to accelerate action to reach out of school children (OOSC).

EAC High Level Ministerial Meeting

It was an opportunity for EAC-supported countries, and in particular EAC priority countries that do not yet have an EAC co-funded program, to network, share ideas and commitments, and consider the actions and policies required to ensure a greater number of primary-aged children gain access to and complete a quality primary education or its equivalent.

Ministerial delegations from 15 countries, including 12 Ministers of Education, gathered under the meeting theme of “Accelerating Action for Out of School Children”. The theme unquestionably implies the need for strengthening attention on out of school populations and prioritising actions aimed at enrolling, retaining and completing primary education. In addition to Ministers of Education and their delegates, some 52 Qatari private and public sector representatives, as well as 10 representatives of multilateral organisations and EAC strategic partner organisations attended.
